ETERNAL SEAS

Eternal Seas is the longest project I’ve worked on. The project was started by me and a friend skilled in programming in 2019. The two of us started working on an early prototype, which was released in 2020, and now are together working with other people aiming for a full release.

The Game

Eternal seas is a single player pirate rpg. In the game the player takes on the role of captain in command of their own vessel.

The player can freely sail and walk around in an open world island region, engage in naval battles, participate in bloody boarding battles, sell cargo to earn a profit and explore dense jungles.

A focus is placed on maintaining a healthy crew, players are tasked with ensuring the needs of their crew are met, feeding them, paying them for their hard work and replacing a crew’s lossed to keep their ship running.

My Role

Since the start of the project I’ve worked as the only designer, which means I’ve been responsible for the creating and ideating on the design of the game. I’ve also created all the levels currently in the game.

Most levels are islands that consist of a town/city, which provide a number of services for the player, and a jungle area where treasures can be found among its many hidden dangers.

Furthermore I’m also responsible for writing the quests and dialogue in the game.

Additionally, I’ve also edited a number of assets that originate from assets packs to better suit our needs, this consists of characters, weapons and ships.

Current State

Eternal Seas is currently still in development, we’re working towards an early access release that will become available on steam.
